Formation of correlations and energy-conservation at short time scales — •K. Morawetz1 and S. Koehler21AG Quantentheorie und Vielteilchensysteme, FB Physik Universität Rostock, Universitätsplatz 3, D-18051 Rostock — 2Department of Physics, University of Arizona, USA

The formation of correlations due to collisions in an interacting nucleonic system is investigated. Approximative kinetic equations are compared with the exact Kadanoff Baym one for second Born approximation. A resonable agreement is found for a proposed approximation of memory effects by a finite duration of collisions [1]. This form of collision integral is in agreement with intuitive estimates from Fermi golden rule. The formation time is calculated for the high and low temperature limit. It is found that the low temperature limit is an universal exact expression for any two-particle interaction. A Padé formula is proposed which interpolates between the low and high temperature limit. We calculate analytically the interaction energy and the formation time for Gauss and Yukawa type of potentials.
