Diffraction in Hard Photoproduction at HERA — •J. Puga — Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Dpto. Física Teórica. E-28049 Madrid
Differential cross sections for events with a large rapidity gap with respect to the proton direction from the reaction γ p → jet + jet + X + p with quasi-real photons have been measured with ZEUS detector. The cross sections are given for jet transverse energies ETjet> 6 GeV and jet pseudorapidities in the range −1.5 < ηjet < 1.0. These measurements have been compared to model predictions based on a pomeron à la Ingelman-Schlein and require a contribution of gluons with a hard momentum density in the pomeron. The distribution of the fraction of the photon’s energy participating in the production of the two jets of highest transverse energy shows the presence of a resolved-photon component in diffractive scattering.
