Magnetic resonance experiments on single terrylene molecules — •A.C.J. Brouwer and J. Schmidt — Centre for the Study of Excited States of Molecules, Huygens Laboratory, University of Leiden, The Netherlands

We introduce a new technique for detecting magnetic resonance of single molecules. This technique was deployed to find the zero-field transitions of the lowest triplet state of single terrylene molecules. By applying this knowledge it proves possible to determine the full triplet kinetics and to manipulate the triplet state by applying microwave pulses at selected times.
