Baryons in a covariant diquark-quark model including scalar and axialvector diquarks* — •M. Oettel, R. Alkofer, G. Hellstern, and H. Reinhardt — Institute for Theoretical Physics, Auf der Morgenstelle 14, 72076 T"ubingen

In a model for the nucleon and the delta where constituent quarks and diquarks interact through quark exchange the Bethe-Salpeter equation in ladder approximation is solved. Quark and diquark confinement is effectively parametrized by apppropriate propagators. Generalizing previous work where nucleon form factors have been calculated including scalar diquarks only [1] we study the influence of axialvector diquarks. The corresponding coupling constant is hereby fitted to the nucleon and delta mass. Furthermore, flavour symmetry breaking is studied. We present results for the mass splittings in the baryon octet which are robust against variation of model parameters and may thus serve as a test for the model.
