The odd-mass N=28 nucleus 51V was investigated in nuclear resonance fluorescence with bremsstrahlung up to an endpoint energy of 6.7 MeV at the superconducting Darmstadt electron accelerator S-DALINAC. The experimental data were taken with two EUROBALL-Cluster detectors. We present detailed information on the fine structure of dipole excitations and compare our results with QRPA calculations. In addition, the coupling of the odd particle to the strong electric dipole state in the neighbouring 52Cr nucleus [1] is discussed with respect to similar cases in heavy nuclei [2].
