Triple Coincidence Measurement of the Δ: 12C(e,e’pπ)11C [1] — •Axel Wagner — Institut für Kernphysik, Universität Mainz, Becherweg 45, D-55099 Mainz

A triple coincidence experiment was performed by using the three spectrometer facility at the Mainz microtron accelerator (MAMI) to investigate the production, propagation, and decay of the Δ resonance inside the nucleus. This reaction was measured by detecting both the proton and the pion from the Δ decay and the scattered electron in coincidence with high resolution magnetic spectrometers. Using carbon as target one achieved a luminosity of 2·1037cm−2s−1. The ground state and the first excited states of the recoil 11C could be separated clearly. The experiment and cross sections at different kinematics will be presented.
