Investigation of short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations using the reaction 16O(e,epp)14C in super-parallel kinematics* — •M. Kahrau — Institut für Kernphysik, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, J.J.-Becher-Weg 45, D-55099 Mainz, Germany

To investigate nucleon-nucleon correlations, a high resolution experiment was performed at the three spectrometer facility at the Mainz Microtron MAMI. The two proton knockout reaction 16O(e,epp)14C was studied in super-parallel kinematics at a beam energy Ebeam = 855 MeV, and a four-momentum transfer (ω,∣q∣) = (215 MeV, 316 MeV/c). The two protons were detected in large-acceptance magnetic spectrometers, parallel and anti-parallel to q. The excitation energy resolution in 14C was better than 1 MeV. Two-hole states were preferentially excited in the reaction. The momentum distributions of the 0+ ground state and the first excited 2+ and 1+ states are compared with recent unfactorized model calculations using realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials.
