The s-process nucleosynthesis of 164Er — •C. Arlandini, F. Käppeler, and K. Wisshak — Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Institut für Kernphysik, Hermann-von-Helmholtz-Platz 1, D-76344 Eggenstein

A new accurate measurement of the neutron capture cross section of 164Er at the energy of kT=25 keV with the activation method [1] has been obtained. The consequences for the nucleosynthesis of this nucleus in the s-process are examined, considering both the classical approach and a detailed stellar model for low mass AGB stars. The impact of the preliminary results of the measurement of the stellar neutron capture cross sections of the Dysprosium isotopes obtained at the Karlsruhe 4πBaF2 detector [2] is also investigated.
