The pionic double charge exchange (DCX) reaction on nuclei exhibits at energies below the Δ resonance a systematic resonance-like structure, which has been interpreted as evidence for a resonance in the πNN subsystem [1,2]. By new measurements on 12C and 7Li we have extended our systematic DCX studies to the lightest nuclei, where the observation of the DCX process to discrete final states is still possible. However, the residual nuclei like 12O and 7B are already particle instable and hence a large background from breakup processes has to be considered.
