The 113Cd nucleus plays an important role in the understanding of nuclear synthesis and provides a good test for the interacting boson fermion model (IBFM). The even–even core 112Cd is well described by the U(5) limit of the IBM. This allows to perform IBFM calculations varying only the microscopic parameters describing the odd neutron and its coupling to the even–even core.
The measurements of the 112Cd(d,p) reaction using the high resolution Munich Q3D magnetic spectrograph at a beam energy of 22 MeV have been performed to study the nucleus 113Cd with a typical resolution of 4.5keV. The polarized deuteron–beam allows determination of spectroscopic factors and spin assignments up to 2MeV excitation energy. The measured data are compared with the theoretical model.
Additionally we have preliminary data of the 192Os(d,p) reaction with identical experimental setup to investigate the nucleus 193Os. Of special interest is the weakly populated groundstate. (Work supported by DFG grant IIC4 Gr 894/2.)
