The Dirac Structure of the Nucleon Self-Energy — •E. Schiller, S. Ulrych, and H. Müther — Institut für Theoretische Physik

An important aspect of today’s Dirac Brueckner Hartree Fock calculations is the decomposition of the nucleon self-energy into Lorentz scalar and vector components. Different techniques exist for this decomposition, which also yield different results for the strength and momentum dependence of the components of the self-energy. In order to account for these differences, investigations are made by analysing the effective interaction in terms of an effective meson exchange model with coupling constants depending on density of nuclear matter. The results are compared to convential calculations.
