Light pulser system for the CsI calorimeter of the BaBar detector at SLAC — •J. Heckmann1, B. Lewandowski1, and German part of the BaBar collaboration21Inst. f. Experimentalphysik 1, Ruhr-Univ. Bochum — 2

The physics goals of the BaBar detector make electromagnetic calorimetry essential for the success of the experiment. In order to realize the intrinsic performance of the CsI calorimeter it is crucial to provide a precise calibration and monitoring system. A light pulser system is designed for the purpose of monitoring short term changes and to provide a convenient and flexible diagnostic tool for the complete readout chain from light collection through DAQ. The light pulser system will be described and the status of the research and development activities concerning the light pulser hardware will be given.
