Scintillating Fibre Detector for the Crystal Barrel Experiment at ELSA/Bonn — •C. K"uppersbusch — Universit"at Erlangen-N"urnberg

In autumn 1998 the Crystal Barrel experiment will start photo- and electroproduction measurements at ELSA/Bonn. A new cylindrical scintillating fibre detector around the target is being built to detect charged particles and act as a fast on-line trigger. Around 600 fibres arranged in three layers will allow the determination of the number of charged particles produced in each event.

The setup of the fibre detector and the results of Monte Carlo simulations will be presented with special emphasis on detection efficiency and event reconstruction.
