Centrality dependence of the K+ yield at midrapidity in the system 96Ru+96Ru at an incident energy of 1.69 AGeV — •Christoph Plettner — FZ Rossendorf, Uni Heidelberg, GSI Darmstadt, IPNE Bucharest, KFKI Budapest, LPC Clermont-Ferrand, ITEP/KI Moskau, CRN Strasbourg, RBI Zagreb

Subthreshold K+ production has been investigated for the system 96Ru+96Ru at an incident energy of 1.69 AGeV. The data have been taken with the 4π detector FOPI at the heavy ion synchrotron SIS at GSI Darmstadt. Kaon identification requires the combination of momentum and time- of-flight (tof) measurements and is successfully achieved at polar angles θ >33 degrees by the central drift chamber and TOF barrel of FOPI. However, this leaves the very interesting region of low transverse momenta at midrapidity uncovered. First results will be presented from the combined analysis of Helitron and Forward TOF Wall data, allowing to dig out kaons from background within a transversal momentum range 130<pt<250 MeV/c at midrapidity and thus enabling the reconstruction of complete spectra. The centrality dependence of the K+ yield as well as the influence of different efficiency parameters entering into the final production cross section are discussed.
