Production of charged kaons in Ru+Ru collisions at 1.7 AGeV beam energy — •K. Wiśniewski — GSI Darmstadt, Uni Heidelberg, FZ Rossendorf, INPE Bucharest, KFKI Budapest, LPC Clermont-Ferrand, ITEP/KI Moscow, IReS Strasbourg, Korea University Seoul, IEP Warsaw, RBI Zagreb

Mesons with open strangeness produced in collisions of heavy ions at energies near the production threshold have been identified as an interesting probe of the physics phenomena occuring when nuclear matter is in a state of high density. This contribution reports on recent results obtained by the FOPI collaboration at GSI on production of charged Kaons in collisions of Ru+Ru at 1.7 AGeV beam energy. With an average rate of 8.5 ⋆ 10−3 per event K+ mesons were detected in normalized rapidity range y0=(−1.3,−0.5). Energy and rapidity spectra of K+ for different centralities were collected and extrapolated to the full phase space resulting in production probabilities per participating nucleon. K to K+ ratio was extracted as a function of rapidity. Extensive comparisons of the data with predictions of transport models showed that modifications of mesons’ properties in nuclear medium are required for a consistent description of the trends found in the experiment.
