Strangeness Production and J/ψ Absorption in the HSD Approach — •J. Geiß, C. Greiner, E.L. Bratkovskaya, W. Cassing, and U. Mosel — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Giessen

We study the production of strange particles and cc pairs within the covariant transport approach HSD in the cascade modus. The production of mesons and baryon-antibaryon pairs is treated within the LUND string model [1], while the production of cc pairs is treated perturbatively employing experimental cross sections. We discuss the strangeness production of the elementary hadron-hadron collisions and show the resulting enhancement of the strangeness yield due to rescattering processes for different systems from AGS to SPS energies. Further on we consider the dissociation of the cc pairs by baryons and strings. The dissociation of cc by the strings or the color electric flux tubes is treated in a pure geometrical picture with the string radius Rs as a new parameter. Adopting 6 mb for the cc baryon cross section we discuss the J/Ψ absoption as a function of Rs for different systems at SPS energies and compare them to NA38 and NA50 data.
