Pair production from multiphoton light-by-light scattering has been observed in the collision of a 47 GeV electron beam and an intense laser beam at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Laser-electron (Compton) scattering produces  30 GeV photons. These photons subsequently interact again with the laser producing electron-positron pairs. This is the first observation of inelastic photon-photon scattering with real photons. This talk will describe these strong-field QED experiments, including observations of nonlinear photon-electron scattering.
