Noncommutative principal chiral models — •Folkert Müller-Hoissen1 and Aristophanes Dimakis21Max-Planck-Institut für Strömungsforschung, Bunsenstrasse 10, D-37073 Göttingen — 2Mathematics Department, GR-83200 Karlovasi, Samos, Greece

An analogue of the Hodge operator is introduced in a framework of noncommutative geometry. The complete integrability of classical 2-dimensional principal chiral models is then extended to a class of generalized principal chiral models on associative and noncommutative algebras. An example of special interest is the algebra of smooth functions (in two dimensions) with the Moyal product.
