The Influence of Quantum and Spin Statistics Effects on the Relaxation of Dense Plasmas — •H. Haberland1, D. Semkat2, and M. Bonitz21Institut für Physik, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität, 17487 Greifswald — 2Fachbereich Physik, Universität Rostock, 18051 Rostock

Quantum and spin statistics effects in dense plasmas have been studied in detail for equilibrium situations. On the other hand, we have recently performed investigations of the relaxation behavior of plasmas, including the buildup of correlations, which showed indications of significant quantum effects [1]. Our contribution gives a detailed analysis of these nonequilibrium phenomena. We present numerical investigations of the relaxation behavior of the electron distribution function in a dense plasma which, for the first time, include consistently exchange (Hartree–Fock) contributions and vertex corrections to the collision integral [2]. Furthermore, we consider the relaxation of kinetic and correlation energy in the ultra–short time regime. To this end, we solve the quantum Landau equation and the Kadanoff–Baym equations.
