Our contribution gives an overview on quantum kinetic equations for correlated plasmas and on the progress achieved in the last 5 years. We are now able to compute the quantum collision integrals on the Landau, Lenard-Balescu and T-matrix level, and furthermore, to solve the Kadanoff-Baym equations. This allows to study Quantum and spin statistics effects in dense plasmas. On the other hand, we have recently performed investigations of the relaxation behavior of plasmas, including the buildup of correlations, which showed indications of significant quantum effects. Our contribution gives a detailed analysis of these nonequilibiurm phenomena. We present numerical investigations of the relaxation behavior of the electron distribution function in a dense plasma which include exchange (Hartree–Fock) contributions and vertex corrections to the collision integral. Furthermore, we consider the relaxation of kinetic and correlation energy in the ultra–short time regime and the evolution of the spectral function.
