Time- and phase-resolved resonant Rayleigh scattering probes the excitonic polarization in a 2D disorder potential — •Stefan Haacke1, Vincenzo Savona2, Samuel Schaer1, and Benoît Deveaud11Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne, DP-IMO, CH-1015 Lausanne, Schweiz — 2Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne, DP-IPT, CH-1

We present experimental results of time-

and phase-resolved secondary emission from

high quality GaAs quantum wells under resonant

excitation of the heavy-hole excitons with 100 fs pulses.

Resonant Rayleigh scattering dominates the initial

part of the emission at low temperatures and

excitation densities. A single speckle of this temporally

coherent component has been analyzed by spectral

interferometry in a Mach-Zehnder scheme.

We will discuss in detail the relation between the

excitonic localization due to interface disorder and

the temporal and spectral shape of the excitonic polarization.
