Terahertz transmission of normal- and superconducting patterned structures — •Maxim Khazan and Ingrid Wilke — Institut fuer Angewandte Physik, Universitaet Hamburg, Jungiusstr. 11, D-20355 Hamburg

We have studied the terahertz transmittance of patterned YBCO films at temperatures from 20 K to 300 K and of the metal wire grids at the room temperature. The transmittance is found to be strongly dependent on the orientation of the pattern with respect to the polarization of the incident radiation. The results are compared to the predictions of the existing theory of wire grids transmission.
