We present an experimental and theoretical study of transport properties of (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x filaments by means of low-temperature scanning laser microscopy (LTSLM). The method of LTSLM allows to visualize the local inhomogeneities individual superconducting filaments extracted from (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x/Ag tapes. Using the non-bolometric response, a spatial resolution of about 1 µm is demonstrated for 10 µm thick filaments. We verified a procedure to image both the distribution of the critical currents and critical temperatures over a sample. Some of the grain boundaries between crystallites show Josephson behavior. Using autocorrelation analysis of the voltage response, characteristic lengths of the critical current inhomogeneity can be retrieved for filaments extracted from different parts of the tape.
