In this poster we present one and two-dimensional approach to solving the hydrodynamic equations set, describing the atmospheric pressure Maecker arc. This arc is burning in the mixture of argon and nitrogen, where the argon is the main portion of the plasma gas (due to the experimental conditions).

In the one-dimensional approach both the diffusion due to the density gradients as the termodiffusion are studied, using the approach of Murphy [1] simplified by a Maecker arc conditions. As the one-dimensional approach is relevant for Maecker arc only in the channel region, the two-dimensional approach by the program Melodie [2] is used, allowing to make the temperature, velocity and mass proportion maps in whole arc.

In the two-dimensional case only diffusion due to mass gradients is used, showing the consecutive stages of the diffusion of nitrogen in an argon arc.
