An experimental characterization of fluctuation induced transport in the toroidal experiment TEDDI is presented. The magnetic field is purely toroidal without rotational transform. Plasma can be produced either by thermionic discharge or resonant inductively [1]. Comparable plasma densities and electron temperatures are reached with both plasma sources. The fluctuations are measured by electrostatic probes that are used as single probes and poloidal probe arrays. In both plasmas burst-like events are detected in the fluctuation induced transport. But the largest events are directed radially outwards in the thermionic discharge and radially inwards in the inductive discharge. It is shown that the large transport events are caused by large-scale spatiotemporal fluctuation structures. The specific properties of these structures are consistent with the observed behavior of the large transport events.
