Electron heat conductivity in dense laser plasmas — •P. Mulser and H. Ruhl — Theoretical Quantum Electronics, Darmstadt University of Technology, Hochschulstr. 4a, 64289 Darmstadt

During the last decades experiments with laser intensities up to 1015 W/cm2 have repeatedly revealed anomalies in the electronic heat conductivity: the classical Spitzer-Braginskii heat flux was reduced by a factor of 100 to 1000. Several phenomena were held responsible for this effect: large temperature gradients, ionacoustic turbulence, thermal instabilities, magnetic fields. However, a satisfactory solution so far does not exist. Nowadays, with the help of three-dimensional PIC- and Vlasov-simulations it has become possible for the first time to study energy transport and electronic heat conduction kinetically. Results from such simulations are presented and discussed.
