We have analyzed the interaction of vortices in Bose-Einstein-Condensates with constrained geometries, showing that the trap boundaries strongly modify the vortex dynamics. In particular we have numerically and analytically studied the interaction of 2 vortices in a 2-D ring. We show that depending on the relative vortex circulation and the relative position of the vortex lines, different regimes of vortex dynamics can be expected.
