Time dependent modelization of tunneling in photoassociation of cold Cesium atoms — •Mihaela Vatasescu1, Olivier Dulieu2, and Françoise Masnou-Seeuws21Institute for Space Science, P.O. Recently [1], anomalous lines in photoassociation spectrum of cold Cesium atoms have been assigned to vibrational levels of the peculiar 0g(6s+6p3/2) double-well potential, with radial wavefunctions tunneling through the barrier between the two wells.

We study here theoretically the time evolution of this effect, unusual for such heavy particles. Following our preliminary studies on time-dependent photoassociation [2], characteristic times for wavepacket motion within both wells and through the barrier are derived, under various intensity conditions for the PA laser. The possibility to rely on tunnel effect to form translationnally cold molecules is discussed.
