NEW THEORETICAL DEVELOPMENTS IN INTERACTING QUANTUM GASES — •George Metikas and Gernot Alber — Abteilung für Quantenphysik, Universität Ulm, D-89069 Ulm, Germany

Using field theoretical techniques we study phase diffusion in interacting quantum gases. Furthermore, going beyond mean field theory, the renormalization group equations for such systems are derived and critical properties are investigated in the presence of a trapping potential both in the broken phase and in the normal phase.
