Recently [1] we demonstrated for the first time that quantum entanglement (QE) may be measurable even in condensed matter at room temperature, if a sufficiently fast scattering technique is applied. In the experiments, the neutron Compton scattering (NCS) method was used. We present new NCS results providing direct evidence for sub-femtosecond QE (at T=295 K) between protons in liquid water, solid polymers, and in metal-hydrogen systems. The NCS results reveal the highly surprising effect that the measured total cross-section density of the protons is reduced by up to 30 percent. This new effect appears to be of quite general nature.
