Measurement of the thermal noise of a suspended mirror — •Volker Leonhardt, Patrick Klövekorn, and Karsten Danzmann — Institut für Atom- und Molekülphysik, Apt. Spektroskopie;Universität Hannover;Callinstr. 38

Non-resonant thermal noise limits the sensitivity of gravitational wave detectors currently under construction around the world. We present preliminary results of an experiment to analyse this noise source. This experiment uses an interferometric readout scheme to measure the displacement of a mirror which is suspended as a triple pendulum.
