Recently the field of coherent control of chemical reactions has benefited of femtosecond pulse shaping. Successful experiments in the field of quantum control employed feedback controlled pulse shaping in the gas phase [1]. In this contribution we report on an extension of these techniques to liquid phase experiments. We have studied the optimization of the photoemission yield of a charge transfer chromophore in solution. The metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) complex [Ru(dpb)3]2+ (dpb = 4,4’-diphenyl-2,2’bipyridine) was chosen because of its emissive properties following multi-photon excitation. Different optimization goals including the maximization as well as the minimization of the ratio emission/SHG yield showed that the optimized electric fields are sensitive to the electronic properties of the molecule.
