Exact 1-loop electroweak corrections to e+e→ 4 f — •Alessandro Vicini — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Karlsruhe

The production of pairs of massive gauge bosons has been observed for the first time at LEP2, in events with 4 fermions in the final state, the decay products of the 2 gauge bosons. At LEP2 the experimental accuracy is at the 1 per cent level and the proposals for the TESLA linear collider envisage to reach the per mille level. A complete 1-loop calculation of the process e+e→ 4f, including all the electroweak radiative corrections, is still missing, leaving the theoretical uncertainty at the 1-2 per cent level (LEP2 energies) up to the 5-10 per cent level (TESLA energies). In this talk all the progresses of a project aiming to complete this calculation in the channel e+e→µ νµ u d will be reported. Special emphasis will be given to: 1) the algebraic manipulation procedure, which allows to treat automatically, at the 1-loop level, processes with more than 2 particles in the final state; 2) the evaluation of all the relevant 1-loop scalar integrals (up to 6-point functions), including the decay width effects for the box integral; 3) issues of the numerical MonteCarlo integration over the final-state phase-space.
