Trends in Physics Teacher Education in Sweden — •Per Olof Zetterberg — Physics Department, University of Lund, Solvegaten 14c, S - 22362 Lund

Should a teacher be generalist or specialist? In the presentation we discuss the differences in the physics teacher education for secondary school and upper secondary school in Sweden. An important topic is how to include training of No-dqpractical physics for childrenNo-dq. Another question is whether there should be a difference between physics for teachers and scientists. We also emphasize an early introduction of science in general and physics in particular in the school curriculum. Teachers education plays an important rule in recruiting students to higher education in natural science and technology.
