Deeply virtual Compton scattering off the nucleon : status and perspectives — •Marc Vanderhaeghen1, N. Kivel2, and M.V. Polyakov31Inst. f. A review will be given of the very recent developments in the field of deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS), as well as hard meson electroproduction reactions on the nucleon [1]. A unified theoretical description of those processes has emerged over the last few years, which gives access to generalized (skewed) parton distributions, sheding a new light on nucleon structure.

We discuss in particular the twist-3 effects to the various DVCS observables, which have been calculated very recently [2]. Furthermore, we address the issue how to extract the skewed parton distributions from observables.

The experimental status and perspectives in this field will also be discussed.
