Anisotropic flow at RHIC — •Eugene Zabrodin, Christian Fuchs, Larissa Bravina und Amand Faessler — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Tübingen, Auf der Morgenstelle 14, D-72076 Tübingen, Germany

Directed and elliptic flow of hadrons in Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies is studied within the microscopic quark-gluon string model (QGSM). In line with the observations at lower energies[1,2], the model predicts a strong softening of the nucleon directed flow in the midrapidity region already in semi-central collisions at √s = 130 and 200 AGeV. The origin of this effect is traced to the interplay between the processes of multi-particle production at ultra-relativistic energies and nuclear shadowing. The elliptic flow shows a strong in-plane emission of hadrons. A comparison with available first data on elliptic flow of charged particles in Au+Au collisions at √s = 130 AGeV[3] reveals that, unlike the majority of microscopic models, the QGSM provides a very good quantitative agreement with the experimental results[4]. Predictions are made also for heavy ion collisions at full RHIC energy √s = 200 AGeV.
