At the ANKE spectrometer at COSY-Jülich a Silicon Vertex Detector is currently under development. With its large amount of detector channels (≈ 10000) the detector will be read out via special amplifier front-end chips produced by the Norwegian company IDE.

For test purposes and the first vertex detector setup at ANKE, a VME based read-out system for double-sided silicon strip detectors has been developed. The interface allows the read-out of the amplifier chips via standard VME ADC and I/O (Sequencer) modules.
