The accelerator for the planned MAFF (Munich Accelerator for Fission Fragments) -project at the new Munich high flux reactor FRM II is in its basic structure similar to the CERN Lead-Injector-LINAC. It has a length of 17 m and consists of a 101.28 MHz RFQ (Radio Frequency Quadrupole) -accelerator, three IH (Interdigital H-Mode) -Drifttube structures (tank1: 101.28 MHz; tank2 and 3: 202.56 MHz) and two Seven-Gap Resonators at 202.56 MHz for variation of the final energy in the range 3.7 - 5.9 MeV/u. The start energy is: 2.5 keV/u. The duty cycle is 10 ratio of the design-ion is: A/q = 6.3.

Besides the two IH-type 7-Gap Resonators, an IH-RFQ is investigated as another innovative component of the MAFF-accelerator. Regarding the good results of the 36 MHz high current injector IH-RFQ of the GSI, we try to show by MAFIA calculations, that advantages of this RFQ-type, like a high efficiency, indirect electrode cooling and a very small dipole content are also available at higher frequencies. For the particle dynamics, an electrode design with a very high transmission (>99 phase spread could be (due to the comparable boundary conditions) derived from the design of the REX-ISOLDE RFQ. The poster shows the results of the MAFIA- and PARMTEQ-calculations together with considerations for the mechanical realization of the IH-RFQ.
