For the evaluation of oxygen impurity fluxes based on the spectral lines the ionization per photon values are of importance. To calculate these values a collisional-radiative model was developed. It was decided to use the O II lines, because they are suitable from the experimental view. The kinetic code GKU was used for the calculations.

The atomic data was mostly calculated by the code ATOM (option AKM) using the K-matrix method in Coulomb-Born approximation. These data were shown to be in agreement with according ones from literature or atomic databases (e.g. ADAS).

To prove the model the spectra of the O II ion after injection of oxygen containing molecules through a block of a poloidal limiter of TEXTOR into the boundary plasma were obtained with radial resolution in the range from 363nm to 476nm, identified and investigated. The theoretical and experimental data for both relative and absolute line intensities were shown to be an agreement. It was also shown that the relative intensities of the lines inside the multiplets are in good agreement with theoretical data calculated in SL-coupling, the relative multiplet intensities have a weak dependence on electron density and temperature. The populations of the ground configuration states of O II were investigated.

This approach will be applied to other species.
