Using the recently developed multipole method for finite-sized two-dimensional Photonic Crystals [1], we analyze the optical properties of a number of systems such as Photonic Quasi-Crystals, waveguiding structures and simple functional elements. In particular, the results on the local density of states and mode structures allow an assesment of the influence of disorder on the properties of these systems and, therefore, aids in the development of robust designs in future Photonic-Crystal based devices.
