Mössbauer effect investigation of Fe-Ni Invar nanoparticles and Fe65Ni35/Al2O3 nanocomposites — •Yue Ma1,2, Yuelong Huang1,2, and Fashen Li11Key Lab for Magnetism and Magnetic Materials of Ministry of Education, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou 730000, P. R. China — 2Chair of Electronic Devices, University of Hagen, D-58084 Hagen, Germany

Fe65Ni35 Invar fine particles with average diameters of 20 to 60nm and Fe65Ni35/Al2O3 nanocomposites were prepared via the sol-gel method and subsequent annealing at different temperatures under hydrogen atmosphere. The structural properties and hyperfine interactions were studied by employing x-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy at various temperature. A common discrete spectrum method was carried out to analyse the resulting Mössbauer spectra and to determine the origin of the central single line spectrum. It was found that the central single line spectrum resulted from both of the superparamagnetic behavior of fine particles and antiferromagnetic low spin state Fe65Ni35 in fcc structure.

Keywords: Fe-Ni nanoparticle; Fe65Ni35/Al2O3 nanocomposites; Mössbauer spectra; various temperature.
