The state of the upper critical field problem of MgB2 one year after — •S.V. Shulga and S.-L. Drechsler — Institut für Festkörper- und Werkstofforschung, D-01171 Dresden, Postfach 270116

We present a theoretical analysis of available experimental data [1] for the upper critical field Hc2(T) with respect to its magnitude, shape and the significant anisotropy obtained from single crystals, thin films and powder samples. Special attention is paid to consequences of the coupling strength, the anisotropy of the Fermi velocities, the electronic multibandstructure [2], the possible role of soft modes and high frequency modes [3], and various kinds of disorder and surface effects in powder samples[4].
