Anisotropic superconductivity in borocarbides: - a comparison with other exotic superconductors — •S.-L. Drechsler1, I. Opahle1, H. Rosner2, S.V. Shulga1, H. Eschrig1, G. Fuchs1, K.-H. Müller1, G. The electronic structure, the isotope effect for the critical temperature, and the upper critical field in rare earth transition metal borocarbides(nitrides) are discussed with respect to somewhat unexpected similarities with as well as to clear differences from cuprate superconductors, MgB2, and URu2Si2. Peculiarities of small grains in powder samples ascribed sometimes to anisotropy effects are considered as well.
