We investigate the electronic transport in solid solutions of EuCu₂(Si_1−xGe_x)₂. Though EuCu₂Si₂ is a well known mixed valent compound, this material seems to be very close to the magnetic-nonmagnetic boundary. The EuCu₂(Si_1−xGe_x)₂ alloy with x=0.4−0.8 exhibits Kondo like resistivity and a surprisingly large Sommerfeld coefficient γ indicating Heavy Fermion like behaviour. In the literature the thermoelectric power has been measured for different concentrations x. We observe large values for thermopower and an attempt has been made to explain this is on the basis of Kondo like and heavy fermion like behaviour.
