Preparation, Scaling Behavior of Activation Energy, and Anisotropy of (Hg0.9Re0.1) Ba2CaCu2O6+δ HTS Thin Films — •Abouelwafa Salem, Gerhard Jakob, Michael Basset, and Hermann Adrian — Institut für Physik Mainz Universität Staudinger-weg 7 D-55099 Mainz Germany

High-quality epitaxial (Hg0.9Re0.1)Ba2CaCu2O6+δ HTS thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) of precursor material on (100)-oriented SrTiO3 substrates with subsequent Hg vapour annealing. The films exhibit sharp superconducting transitions at Tc≈120 K. The activation energy for thermally activated flux-creep has been determined as a function of temperature and dc magnetic fields up to 6 T parallel and perpendicular to the crystallographic c-axis.
To study the anisotropic properties of the vortex state, measurements of the depinning field on epitaxially grown Hg-1212 films were performed under variation of the of the angle θ between the field direction and the c-axis of the film with high angular resolution ( Δ θ ≈ 0.1 ). The measured angular dependence of the depinnig field Bdp shows a cusp for θ = 90. The complete angular dependence Bdp(θ) can be explained completely by taking into account the anisotropy of the upper critical field.
