Relativistic Laser - e+e- Interaction — •Michael Geissler, Michael Geissler, Jürgen Meyer-ter-Vehn, and Jürgen Me yer-ter-Vehn — Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik, Hans Kopfermann Str.1, 85748 Garching bei München

We present 3D-PIC simulations with the ILLUMINATION-Code to study the interaction of a e+e- plasma with a high power laser pulse in the relativistic regime. Electron-positron plasma will behave in a different way than a common plasma due to the equivalent mobility of positive and negative charges. It is expected that electron-positron plasmas with densities up to 1017 1/cm3 will be available in the near future. The intention is to produce e+e- beams. Such beams are of interest also in astrophysics in the context of cosmic jets.
