Time resolved 2D Doppler imaging of the W7-AS divertor plasma using a MOSS spectrometer — •Jinil Chung1, Ralf Koenig1, N. The island divertor in stellarators is inherently asymmetrical in the poloidal and toroidal direction, creates a complete 3-dimensional (3D) structure. To explore the complicated 3D structural physics, many 2-dimensional (2D) spectroscopy based diagnostics were installed in the W7-AS divertor region. We have newly constructed the first 2D MOSS spectrometer using a high-resolution 2D CCD camera to study the 468.6 nm He II line emissions from the divertor region in the W7-AS. To construct this, we have also created a coherence simulation code and its proper model. The simulation code provides a very effective way to find a suitable isolated line among the candidate lines. The suitability of such a system as a possible W7-X divertor diagnostic was tested. We have taken measurements at the end of the W7-AS experimental campaign which will allow us to derive the He II ion temperature distribution across an entire divertor module.
