Measurement of the Bs0 mass with the ALEPH detector — •Manuel Villegas Caballero — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik (Werner-Heisenberg-Institut), Föhringer Ring 6, 80805 München

A measurement of the mass of the Bs0 meson is presented. It is based on a sample of about 4 million hadronic Z0 decay events, recorded with the ALEPH detector in the so-called LEP-1 era, during the years 1991-95.

Two decay channels were chosen for this purpose, namely the Bs decay into J/ψφ and into ψ′φ, which, in spite of their small branching ratios, are useful because of their clean decay topologies.

These channels provide candidates which must be confirmed through the rejection of alternative hypotheses.
