b-Quark Flavor Tagging at CDF — •Claudia Lecci, Gary Barker, Michael Feindt, Ulrich Kerzel, Stephanie Menzemer, Kurt Rinnert, and Alexander Skiba — Institut für Experimentelle Kernphysik Universität Karlsruhe (TH)

One of the most interesting topics in particle physics today is the experimental investigation of the asymmetry of matter and antimatter (CP violation). Constraining the CP violating parameters, especially in the B meson system, will provide information on the scope boundaries of the Standard Model. To this end it is necessary to distinguish b-quarks from b-quarks experimentally, a process called flavor tagging. We will present several techniques of flavor tagging based on the observables available at the CDF detector, especially focusing on advantageous combinations of the various observables.
