By large-scale Monte Carlo simulations we have studied the phase diagram of the bond-diluted three-dimensional 4-state Potts model. Evidences are given for the existence of a tricritical point separating a regime where the transition remains of first order and a second-order regime where the transition is smoothed to a continuous one by the quenched disorder. In the latter regime, critical exponents are estimated.
